Laughter?
She is the reason why I too laugh at dance and poetry
artists who open themselves up to the world
only hoping to share the music that makes them dance.
Because in inner city Los Angeles in the 1970's
artists didn't faire well
nobody did
except for her.
With no one to look towards she sees herself as the only equation.
She is the only one smart enough to find a way out so
She laughs at those foolish enough not to follow her formula.
If I don't fight like she did, work like she did, and
suffer through what she did
I won't make it out.
After all,
Artists dont make it in inner city Los Angeles
And that's why I laugh at myself.
