I Refuse
You don’t think I can
I can
You don’t know me
You can’t speak
For me
For my life
For my future
My life belongs to me, not you
Who hurt you
Who hurt you so badly
You need to ruin my day
to make yours worthwhile
That’s just additional guilt you’ll deal with
I refuse
To be told
I can’t do something
Simply because
You don’t think
I can
I’m stronger than you give me credit for
Like a hurricane
I will shake your world
And I will watch
As every
Unkind word
Shove into a wall
Graffiti on my locker
Violation of my privacy
Act of ridicule
Is sucked into a vortex
And crumbles into nothing
I will no longer tolerhate being ignored
“Perfect” is just a label
One of many you’re handing out
“Perfect”
“Skinny”
“Rich”
They’re all just ways to categorize us
I will not be defined by your standards, but of my own
Tragedy can make or break you
It’s all about how you look at life
If it makes,you won’t break
If it breaks, you can’t make
I
Refuse
To
Be
Told
I
Can’t
Do
Something
Simply
Because
You
Don’t
Think
I
Can

I was inspired to write this because Im constantly being told that I will neevr achieve my dreams. I hope people that read this understand that they can do whatever they want to, as long as they push through the hurt and overcome.
