Winters Day
“Frightening ice on the road”
That’s the first thing I heard in the morning.
It was a suspenseful winter day.
From the moment I woke up it was a cold start.
The smell of snow in the air sent a shiver down my spine,
that made me feel like I was a snowman, myself.
My body was frozen, yet warm.
Scared to drive, so I decided to stay inside.
The decision was a good one.
I stared out the window and noticed the sparkling white snow
That was glistening in the frozen pine trees.
I watched the snow in it’s decent
as it hit the ice on the lake.
It splattered on the surface
As if it was coming from Jupiter.
Drinking cool hot chocolate that you could smell like it came from the North Pole,
Cuddling up with a blanket on the couch,
And watching Elf;
I felt like a puppy laying in it’s bed, on a Christmas day.
It was a better way to spend my day.
