"If and When"
If hope became as abundant as doubt,
Life was a road map with a certain route,
And people didn’t censor what came out,
If lies and pretense cried out as pure truth,
Decency was granted to the uncouth,
And innocence was returned to stained youth,
If unfortunate moments weren’t always sad,
Courage and character were all we had,
And good was remembered more than bad,
When hate is conquered and love saves the day,
And fear and anxiety are at bay,
Most of the humans will have washed away.
