The Kids Are Not Alright

Danny is shooting up in the bathroom
Sarah cries herself to sleep
Tori wouldn't know love if it hit her in the face

Michael fears fear itself
Sam pukes and never eats
Laurie looks at herself and doesn't look very deep

Mark is almost never sober
Nicole smiles with her teeth
Andrew has all he'll ever want but desires what he needs

Erin hides the bruises on her back
John cuts right to his soul
Tina eats her feelings and swallows them all whole

Tom is bullied til he's numb
Joe has nothing on his plate
Lucy thinks love comes from the man with whom she lay

No more hopes for tomorrow
Only long lost dreams
The kids are not alright
But you don't care to see
