A way of life
Now hair spray smells as natural as the air I breathe.
Inhale. Exhale.
Sparkling eyes like the moon at midnight every time I blink.
We’re the second ones in line. We’re almost up.
Adrenaline consumed us as if to be the only substance in our bodies.
Muscles warm and ready to go as the announcer summons us upon the seven blue mats.
It’s go time!
High flying, stunt riding, loud and proud cheerleaders: The first time we’d ever competed.
And just then, we realized, it’s not only a sport. It’s a way of life.
