shoesYour
  Since a little girl
I've wanted to walk in your shoes
  Yes
  The big black ones
  I always wore your clothes
When you were out to sea
  And home with me
You told me that you loved me
  Never proved it
  One day
You dressed me up in your navy uniform
  Got pictures taken
  Professionally
  I was hardly even 6
A little short thing I was
I only fit in your shirt
It was down to the ground
I had on your boat hat
I wanted to walk in your shoes
  You were my idol
From the moment I was born..
You told me to go into the navy
  That which I wanted
  Until age 6 plus 3..
That's when it turned for the worst
  You became a deadbeat
  Just lost to me
  Now your dreams
Of a daughter in the navy
  Fighting for her country
  Is only a dream
