Safe, Secure, and Welcoming
Home is where I go when nothing turns out right.
When a day’s been long and hard,
Home is where I go.
When I need some comfort and some closure,
Home is where it’s at.
Safe, secure, and welcome,
Is what home is to me.
As soon as I walk in I hear the sound of paws.
They run up to me ecstatic and energetic as I enter the threshold.
When I think of home I think of a special taste.
The puppy chow that I make so often in the colder months.
Home is where I see the rows upon rows of pictures,
Friends and family smiling all while lining the walls.
I see my ever so welcoming bed beckoning me.
There lies my biggest relief after a long day.
From the people, to the food,
My “home” also happens to be my getaway.
