The Hills
I remember when,
The twisting swerves and curves,
My excitement had no end.
Going over and through the hills,
All leading to a clearing with a tiny white house.
This is where my grandma was.
This is where fun filled summer and winter breaks would happen.
This is where my family is from.
This is what my family does,
We create and share memories to never be forgotten.
In this place was love around every corner,
Never letting anyone feel alone or out of place.
In this place were the best times,
Also the worst
It seemed like we could always pull through,
It felt as if our family was an unbreakable wall.
It felt like we would never lose each other,
Until the glue that held us all together,
Was taken away in an instant forever.
Now it’s too late but I hear the voices,
I wish I would have made better choices,
Just to say goodbye,
One last time.
