Internal Metronome

At a low:
Every single song
Sour;
Spoiled;
Each duet fell to ?at notes;
Each resulted in a soloist;
Scarred;
Alone.
.........
And all at once;
I felt something inside me
Something that hadn't been in such a long time.
It started hesitant;
Off-key;
Out of time;
The soul's metronome was rusty and worn.
Gradually,
The beat progressed;
the 4/4 heard;
So sweet & soft a melody born,
That my heart was once again warm;
Like awaking vocals singing
Out to create a song,
That two heart's yearned a melody for.
