Why? (Please Help Me)
Why don't you see
What's happening to me
I don't want to bug
I just want a simple hug
Because inside
Where I hide
Inside, I cry
Every single night
I beg you to notice
But always get disappointed
Why don't you see
What's happening to me
My heart is aching
With all this breaking
My mind shouts
But my lips make no sound
I can't form words
About all this hurt
I just lay here
Filling myself of tears
Why don't you see
What's happening to me
I'm giving up
On both of us
Because I know you don't care
Isn't very rare
My body is getting weak
I can't stand on my own two feet
I need you
So, please, need me
Why don't you see
What's happening to me

My inspiration for this came from within me. It's one of those feelings where you are wishing that someone will just look at you and realize that you aren't as okay as you tell everyone you are. That you're dying inside, but all you need is that one hug to make you feel like things are going to get better. It's not what you get though, people pass you by and don't suspect a thing. I want people to understand that this, poem, is a small way of telling them that just because she's smiling doesn't mean she isn't dying on the inside or just because he's hanging out with friends, making jokes, doesn't mean he isn't wishing someone would just sit there, and let him talk. We all try to hide, but sometimes we get sick of hiding. We all know we wish someone would just comfort us. So, next time someone says "I'm okay" try digging deeper to see if they really mean it or if it's just their way of trying to hide the fact that they may need someone...
