Move Along Pretty Girl with a Broken Song

Go ahead, pack up your lies

It's time for you to kiss me good-bye

No sense waiting

On something that's already fading

You prefer

A life with her

I'll fight back the tears

And push away the fears

I can finally see clearly

That there is no feelings

The butterflies will fade

You can say I was played

It's time i stop holding your hand

And take a stand

Don't leave me text messages, don't give me a call

Enough with the I love you's, just move on

One last hug before I send you off

With a good luck

You were just flirting

And now I'm hurting

Did you even care at all

Or did you just want to watch me fall

I'm just a pest

She is the best

So walk away with a smile

While I break down for awhile

The memories will fade

This was a mistake

Because in the end

We were "just friends"

Move along, you're just another pretty girl

With a broken song

The author's comments:

I wrote this piece because of my brother's best friend... Our assigment was to write what we were thinking or feeling. At that moment I thought of all the things he had said to me and all the things I was feeling before reality told me to give up. I don't know what I was others to get out of this poem. I just thought it was an okay poem and someone might actually like it or understand. Understand how it feels to love someone who doesn't love you or is already taken...
