Favorite Quote:
"Miss Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?"

Repeated words on the radio don’t seem
to affect this nightly ritual, static takeover as
I run away from here and towards Venus, my
beloved homeland, my rebellious lady who’s
virtue and forest has grown dear to me.

Venus! Venus! Aphrodite, can you hear me?
I love you! Love you! Aphrodite, hear me roar!
For it is you, my love, that I am so keen to, it is you,
my love, it has always been you. It’s your
unearthly shade of green that draws me to protect you,
I promise you, I’ll protect you.

Space Cadet, she’s a demon! Space Cadet,
she’s a succubus who’s come to take you
to hell! Space Cadet, pull out!
But there’s no going back tonight, there’s
no holding back tonight, call it love or
rebellion if you must, but tonight I won’t
stop touching her when I fall in love with
her eyes, again, again, again.

“Space Cadet, hear me now! Space Cadet,
head this eternal vow! Once you go,
you can never come back! She’s not
worth it, she’s unearthly! Space
Cadet pull out! Space Cadet
pull out!”

But my feet haven’t touched
the ground since I’ve landed here,
and I’m in love with the beauty of this
land, and you can tell me that it was
all the devil’s fault, but let’s face it,

Venus’ is just quite the loving lady
and I’m the kinda woman who’s
just her speed.

The author's comments:

"Space Cadet, Pull Out!" is from a song called 'Welcome to Bangkok' by Brand New, and I used it as inspiration for writing this piece. This piece is a metaphor for a woman (space cadet) falling in love with another woman (Venus) but keeping it secret from her family and friends because of their judgement (Earth), but eventually she makes the decision to be with the one she loves.
