Track
It is always calm before the strom
Everything is silent
It's just me and the track and the obstacles that stand in my way
Each runer walks to their assigned lane
And the nerves start to set in
Then it is time
The starter calls us into our blocks
On your mark
Get set
Go
The gun goes off and we explode like a bullet
My mind is blank except the the though of run and jump
I attack evry hurdle in stride and never look back
As we hit the straight away the leaders emerge
I am in front
My legs start to scream and burn and say they can't go faster
I ignore their desperate plees and move faster
The hardest hurdle is up next
The final one
I clear it with rough form but stay on my feet
I lunge for the line like it's running away from me
Then it's all over in a matter of 49 seconds
The happiest times of my life
