Picture Perfect Girl
If you'd have seen the girl,
you never would've guessed,
She tried so very hard,
She did her very best,
She put on large sweaters,
So her wrists remained unseen,
But now she is dead,
Another lost teen,
No one really knew,
That she was hurting inside,
No matter the pain,
The sadness she would always hide,
With big,fake smiles,
It was her secret,
No matter how bad it got,
She was determined to keep it,
When she was alone,
She set her demons free,
And then the blood would pool,
Like the crimson red sea,
No one would question,
When she said she was fine,
And then one night,
She crossed that line,
Now she's all gone,
Lifeless and pale,
That's the perfect teenage girl,
And her suicidal tale

This piece was written a year ago when I was surrounded by the pressures of being the perfect daughter, and depression and suicidal thoughts were eating away at my mind. Poetry got me through that.
