Music is Life
Beating rocks and stretched hides as drums,
Transformed to superb symphonies and operas.
Combinations of notes will put you on the edge of your seat,
Or make you cower in the corner with tears streaming.
Its melodies can soothe you into a peaceful slumber,
like snoozing in a hammock on the beach.
It draws hidden emotions from the deepest parts of your soul.
Parts you didn’t think could be shown the light.
When we celebrate a birthday,
When we mourn a death.
When two lovers are unified.
When another holiday passes.
Music makes each occasion special.
A universal language that generations of genius’ spoke.
Genius’ that believed beauty wasn’t seen but heard.
Music has carried with us through the rise and fall of empires,
Plagues and wars.
Music has always been there to make life more bearable.
It can give you the strength to carry on,
When the mountainous challenges are blocking your path.
When you feel you cannot take another step.
Music defines true happiness.
Music embodies all that is beautiful.
Music is life.

As a musician, music is one of the greatest factors that influence my life. I play the violin, cello and I sing. It is my escape from the real world and is my stress relief. I hope peeople will come to appreciate music as a whole and realize how far music has come and developed into what we know and love today.
