Bromine

The name is Bromine
Column 17
RIght under chlorine

Period 4
Can you guess what I am?
Halogen

Very reactive
Come in contact with me
skin turning like fire
this situation is dire

My form is a liquid
visibly seen until water comes along
FInd me in earth's crusts and seawater

Turning into salt when I unite with my metal friend
BOOM!
potassium's comes again

35 protons
7 valence electrons
this is what makes up me
a halogen

Chlorine

Chlorine in the water,

Chlorine in the swimming pool.
Uses we all know.

Chlorine is a gas,
Can be found in an air mass
But not in the grass.

There are electrons.
Seven of them are valence.
T’is a halogen.

Atomic number,
Seventeen. Boils at what?
Minus twenty nine.

Right below fluorine.
Column number seventeen.
Above the bromine.

Reacts with fluorine.
To make interhalogen
Species, C.I.F.

Chlorine and water.
Creates hypochlorite.
Who would have known it?

Iodine

Iodine

My name is iodine
I’m from column 17
my friend is bromine.
because she is above me.

My atomic number is 53
There’s nothing else I’d rather be
When I’m a solid my color is blue and black
Very shiny and that’s a fact

My isotopes are known and radioactive
Except for I -127
They know me as a halogen

Kl, Na, so much more
We will react for sure
Anything anywhere
I’ll react without a care

Though I react with almost all
When I react its very small
Less than any halogen but
I wont repeat it again

Listen close listen well
my favorite one
is soon to tell
I don’t react with water well

The halogens combined
creating a simple compound
It is ionic so dont throw a fit

Now tis the end
But this is me a halogen!

Flourine

The burning sensation of acid,

the hydrogen together with fluorine exploding like a firework,
the fluid boiling really low past the temperature of dry ice.

I will remind you of antarctica, My name is fluorine
my atomic number is nine,
please bring moisture so I can make oxygen.

I am a halogen right above chlorine
I am in group 17, period 2
please dont touch me i'm worse than the flu.

I am a yellow fluid that reacts to my buddy chlorine
we both create hypochlorite.
We both mix together like peanut butter and jelly.

But i am not to eat, just to experiment
I was isolated by ferdinand frederick henri moissan
Many tried but failed when i ended them fast like lightning.

I am the most reactive element that is a liquid and gas
once water falls on me like a drop in pavement, run for your life because i'm not waiting,
the explosion is coming don't wait i blow up in flames,  so take cover because I'm coming.
