Wanderlust
Stare ahead,
look at the map on your car’s dash.
Notice how the bluish-green tint
is exactly the same color of your favorite ice cream,
mint chocolate chip.
Dotted,
are the many cities you've never been,
but hope one day you will.
The highways are bleeding red,
jagged and flowing,
down the map,
spreading across like red rivers.
Look further,
just upon the dash ,
through the wind shield.
A small stretch of road,
up ahead.
Looking so out of place
here in this world.
The dark evergreen trees,
so large compared to you.
You are nearly a speck of dust,
here in this world.
You start to wonder,
how things so different,
could be found right beside each other.
Then you understand,
it’s to fill humans undying need to see the world,
explore places,
many places,
ones others wouldn't dare.
You know.
It’s for the people like you,
the ones with a thirst,
deep inside their hearts
to experience.
Experience the nature,
like the trees.
Experience the creations,
like the roads.
To quench the thirst,
inside your soul.
Wanderlust.

"Sit on a bench poem"
This poem was inspired by a picture of a map. It reminded me of my wish to travel and have adventures.
