Each labored breath wasted on you
brings me one step closer to
the edge of the Earth;
I don’t know how much
more of you
my lungs
can take.

The constant unrequited love I've received seemed to drive to towards breathlessness, as if I'd been pumping oxygen through my system for no reason at all. It's tiring, loving someone in a way they will never understand.
