Oh water I owe you
for providing life and nutrients
to thousands of different organisms
that are necessary for survival
from the great apes to a little slug.

I thank you for
watering the plants and animals
that we use to provide us with food
that we would die without.

Water I am grateful
that you allow us to transport
and travel all across the globe
so that we can be better connected
from the east to the west.

But I am the most thankful
for those hot summer days
that you quench my thirst
after baking in the sun.

I thank you water
for being there for me
and for all life.
