The world would be better if...

The world would be better
if there were no more wars,
no sons and daughters,
mothers and fathers,
torn from their families, and killed.

The world would be better
if there was no hunger,
cravings for sweet food,
hungry for love,
and the never were.

The world would be better
if all people were kind,
for there'd be no lonely souls,
no tears shed by broken hearts,
and teens crushed by harsh words.

The world would be better
if all people were honest
for there'd be no lies,
no ulterior motives,
and no hurtful gossip.

The world would be better
if every hand would be joined,
for no one would cry tonight,
or fight off the nightmares,
at least not alone.

The world would be better
if every heart was warm
for no one would be alone,
rejected and scorned,
or dreading the cold, dark shadows.

The world would be better
if every eye was opened,
for no one would be left behind,
forgotten, and abandoned,
with nowhere left to run.

The world would be better
if every soul was home,
so no one would be on the streets,
padding down the alleys,
with blood-stained hearts.
The world would be better
if no one was lonely,
suffering a curse,
no one should ever have to bear,
a curse always borne alone.

The world would be better
if no one was broken,
bent beyond repair,
ready to give up,
with no end in sight.

The world would be better
if no one was alone,
because then no one
would have to face the wars,
the hunger, the animosity,
the lies, the lonely nights,
the cold, and bitter hearts,
the closed eyes, and homeless souls,
all by themselves,
no one would have to go through
Life's hardest strife’s on their own.
