Butterflies
I tried to talk about the butterflies but no one would listen
It’s normal, they said
And no one knows how many times I’ve had to relieve stress
I can’t tell them about the fluttering that never seems to go away
They call it stress
I call it panic
Keep pushing
And somehow I keep shrinking as the butterflies grow
Like a tapeworm only nothing stays
I can’t keep it down
I feel crazy these days
And no one notices my eyes
I can’t ask for help but I’ve tried to let them figure out the butterflies
Every once in awhile I explode but it’s a joke
Gummy worms and black coffee
Oh, it hurts to the cool
