Alive
I look into your eyes
Seeing through your skin
skeleton and organs, blood and veins
Bending all sorts of ways
I watch your organs in motion
Looking like they, themselves are breathing.
Alive
I watch the blood flow
Rushing side to side
I watch your veins route
Flowing through a never-ending journey
I feel your warmth
Moving down to the end of your fingertips
Alive
But when the day comes
I’ll look into your eyes
I’ll see through you’re skin
Your bones will not rotate
Your organs will not pulsate
Your blood will stop flowing
Your veins no longer scavenging
Gone is the life I once saw within
Gone is the warmth that once wrapped me; kept me warm
Gone are the features I once fell in love with
Not Alive
Blood flow has stopped
Vein flow has ceased
Bones don’t even creak.
But that soul, that soul is much too deep
Much to real to ever give in to defeat
Alive
