" I'm Tired"
I am so tired,
I admit without shame
I am tired,
I just want to go home,
And sleep,
What’s worse, basketball practice or school all week?
I feel like going home and going straight to bed,
DON’T call my phone
Cause’ it’s DEAD,
I might speak when we’re in public,
But when I’m tired don’t expect nothing,
This especially true
If I don’t like you,
When I’m tired I might fight you,
But let us have sympathy cause’ I’m tired
Justin put important words and phrases on lines of their own such as, “I am tired, don’t call my phone and cause its dead.” Justin did this to show the reader how he was feeling when he wrote this poem. Justin changed the format of his poem. He made lines longer than the other and centered them differently, to change the tone of the poem. Justin used emotion as a device throughout the poem. He was trying to stress the fact that he is getting tired and stressed out about basketball practice, and school.
