Fragments
He was looking...searching...for the answer.
Left hollow and fragmented
He couldn’t remember his past memories or anything for that matter
All he could remember was feeling a pulsating sensation inside his head.
His thoughts and his memories
all vanished into the mist.
Darkness clouded his mind on events prior to the injury
yet left with his name
he made himself a new.
He created a new identity
a fresh start.
He excelled in most of his classes
some not so much.
He even met a girl
she was cute.
Very beautiful and kind hearted.
She adored by everyone in all her classes.
She was popular and active in most clubs.
Yet she saw something in him that caught her eye.
He wasn’t like the rest.
Sensitive, kind, and sweet,
he was everything that she wanted.
But beyond the glass,
another watched as her ex and soon to be her husband
she watches as another takes her only love away.
She cries everyday about what had happened
but there’s no changing the past so she moves on
and he marries the new girl in his life
and like that
everything in the past
all my emotions thoughts and feelings float away into the flowing clouds
like a child with wings
it soars into the sky with a grace and elegance that resembles a drifting memory
fading into the back, lost and forgotten
collecting dust and the cracks grow and rot
and I leave, vanishing with the memories
