Lost at sea

My mind is like a beach,
endless waves crash against the shore,
and even when I shout and scream,
these troubles I can't ignore.
There's irony in situations,
where your heartbeat proceeds to hasten,
as you protest, "No God would cause this much sorrow!"
Yet you pray each night for a better tomorrow.
