Spring Cleaning
My dad buys a new TV – then, CRASH!
Our old one soon is thrown into our stash
I buy a Kindle, and soon all of my books
Gather dust on my shelf – I don’t like the looks!
My sister buys herself a new teddy bear,
And as she packs away her old one, we all stare.
Well, you must admit, it’s been quite a long year,
And our house would explode if spring cleaning wasn’t here.
One weekend in spring, Mom tells us, and we heed,
To clean up the house of the things we don’t need
We sweep all the books off our dusty book racks
And sort out the old ones, and put them in sacks.
We then swarm our bathrooms for towels to give
Cause there is lots of them in the home where we live
The kitchen’s our next stop, the excess forks and spoons
Would be enough to make somebody swoon.
So as you see we give away lots of stuff
And we give them to people whose lives are going rough
Because we give them to Goodwill; we’re pretty smart.
I like giving to Goodwill – that’s the best part!
