Many people have received great recognition for the beliefs that they have and I do not share my belief in hopes of receiving great recognition or any recognition at all. However, I feel very strongly about my belief because I know that it is very significant to everyone’s life. I have many beliefs, but there are obviously some that I take more seriously. My strongest belief is that attaining the quality of work ethic is crucial in order to be successful in the world.
This belief has affected my daily life literally every single day of my life. In everything that I do, I put forth my best effort and never give up. I have witnessed many people that start at the bottom then with their great work ethic become very successful in just about everything they do.
One day, my uncle and I were sitting down at the large mahogany table that takes up the majority of my kitchen. I immediately understood that he was changing his normal humorous tone into a very serious tone. He shared with me a story about his experience in school and that the curriculum wasn’t ever as important as the life skills he learned throughout his experiences.
Everything was against my uncle, but he persevered and worked hard to get where he is today. This story taught me that while curriculum is very important, the life skills people learn through “real world” experiences are much more significant than the information in the textbooks.
