I Heard A Story
I heard a story,
About two girls.
One the sweetest,
Kindest,
Most tender in the land.
The other,
A bigger, stronger girl,
Than the sweetest in the land.
They were good friends.
But one day,
The sweetest was betrayed,
Hurt by her friend.
And the story goes,
That the sweetest was raped,
Forced against her will,
By the bigger, stronger girl,
By one of her best friends.
And the sweetest was never the same again.
Scarred for life,
By her very good friend.
The bigger, stronger girl,
Got away with the deed,
And left the sweetest crying.
The sweetest never told,
Kept the secret close,
And they kept on as friends.
The sweetest only told a few,
Who she knew,
She could trust with the news.
And so this story reached my ears,
And so I tell you.
But what good will it do?
Nothing will come of this story-telling.
I just hope,
It will encourage you,
To not be the bigger, stronger one.
The one who raped,
The love of my life.
Be someone who cares.
And don't lay a finger,
On the sweetest,
My sister of the soul.
