loop de loop
it's hard
because when your ice blue
eyes glowed in the darkness
and you peered at me worriedly
the stink of alcohol on your breath
something in me broke
the feelings that had remained dormant
for so long
flooded out
as your bony arms
squeezed the life out of me
and held me close
we hadn't hugged in so long
in the midst of a crisis
I may have lost my father
but I gained the most important thing
I'd forgotten ever existed
a sister's love
