melting pot
numb, rocked icy to my core
and you want me to stand up
the knees of my jeans damp
from sinking into the cool, hard Earth
for so damn long.
i am tired, i am weak,
i am strung out,
dark circles marring
beneath my eye lids
like coffee rings
decorating a counter-top.
i am spent,
drained both emotionally & physically
but so is everyone else.
i am no different
even though i have been on
the other side
of desolate confused raging hurt
traveled to the sea of hollow
screaming until my ears bleed angst
jumped into a gaping wormhole
of stabbing needle pain
slipped on an oil slick
dark and oozing sins
of torture
i have dwelled on that other side
existed on another plane
a separate boundary
i hope you never find
