I come from the woods
Where it is peaceful and quiet from dawn to dark
Listening!
Listening to soft melodies the birds sing
I come from patience
Four long hours in one spot
Waiting.
Seventeen feet up in a tree
Over time the cold seems to slowly leak into your bones
I come from adrenaline
Pumping through my veins if I hear a crunch or crack
I come from wisdom
Wisdom of wildlife
Knowing,
Knowing where it will be before it gets there.
I come from noon naps
Waking up early to sleeping in the day
I come from the dominate species
Predator,
Not prey
I come from the limbs of my bow
As my bow is an extension of my body
Like my mind controls the arrow.
I come from a guy’s weekend
Cots and an outhouse
I come from hunting
