Inky Blue
Rich
Luscious
Inky blue
The blanket of twilight
a milky navy velvet
Speckled with silvery white stars
The warm rushes of water
encase my whole body
Gulping the humid air
I plunge under
The water surges with life
I recline back
scraping against the gritty pool bottom
gazing to the spellcasting sky
A dazzling deep diamond blue
The faint ripples of water seem to still
A sheet of glass
So thin
So fragile
Could be broken
by a soft feathers touch
Breath holds frozen
The air that should be gone in seconds feels like
minutes
hours
an Eternity
Letting the smallest puffs of air escape
the bubbles drift to the surface
only to glide across the glassy slate
shattering its pristine perfection
The glints of waning moonlight bounce off the imperfections
So beautiful
So effortless
Forced to resurface
My lungs overdue
for a dose of the
sweet air,
yearning for
another breath
Until
I plunge again
In surrender to the
Rich
Luscious
Inky Blue
