Brain Tumor
I walked into the family room
and sulked into the leather chair.
My face was sweaty
coming home from softball.
I looked around,
my family was gathered.
It was nearly pitch black outside.
I looked at my mom,
I could tell that she wanted to talk.
But she couldn’t.
Her eyes welled up
and began to turn red.
Her mouth was open,
but no words came out.
She was frozen.
Finally seconds later,
the words shot out like daggers.
One by one piercing into my memory.
“Girl’s I have a brain tumor.”
I was shattered,
stunned.
I couldn’t move.
