Human
I am aloud to cry as much as I want.
I’m aloud to scream at the top of my lungs, when I get angry.
I am allowed to feel pain, when others have hurt me.
I’m allowed to feel the love we are all destined to find
And I am allowed to make mistakes, as long as I learn from them.
However, what I’m not allowed to do is give up in the heat of battle or look
Outside my window for days wondering what could have, should have, and would have been.
I’m not allowed to criticize and beat myself over my imperfections, nor am I allowed
to think that life is going to be easy.
I am human, not superwomen.
I cannot use my magical superpowers to make everything ok, nor do I have the ability
to change the way people might mistreat you, but I can comfort you
and wipe your tears when you feel sad.
I can feel and do all of these things because I am human.
I am human and I can, and will, overcome the obstacles ahead of me,
to the best of my abilities.
I am human and I couldn’t be more proud of that.
