Three A.M.
I’m from tangerine dreams and peaches with cream
I’m from crinkled noses and gentle touches
I’m from cloudy, lazy days and sitting in the rain
I’m from wearing stolen hoodies and drinking peach tea at noon
I’m from calming solitude and overwhelming company
I’m from a sea of unwritten words and a sky of hidden worlds
I’m from midnight melodies from under my window and soothing conversations from under my pillow
I’m from nests made of blankets and beds made of thorns
I’m from clouds with silver linings and serrated edges
I’m from a land of repeated “I’m sorry”s that slowly lose all meaning
I’m from whispered “I love you”s and painful silences
I’m from your tears overflowing in the cup that is my sanity
I’m from please stop yelling it’s 3AM

This piece is inspired by the poem "Origins" by Jeffrey McDaniel, and is a reflection of my own life and experiences.
