June six nineteen forty four,

The day when the free world stars to call,

The time when the enslaved Europe tumbles and fall,

D-Day when the eagles fought in the sky,

To determine the winner of the night.

The Blue Eagle was cautious and precise

While the Grey Eagle was caught by surprise.

The airplanes soared and their engines roared,

The navy sailed into the raft of waves,

Clearing the mines which slowed their pace.

The landing crafts were loaded and the soldiers zest,

To get it over and return to rest.

The Blue Eagle raided the Grey Eagle's hind,

The Grey Bird swooped down onto a branch of pine.

The Blue Eagle  pounced and its opponent clawed,

Both then took flight and started a fight.

The airbone landed and heavy shells detonated,

The dancing fires crackled and billowing fumes swirled.

The hedgegrows incinerated and the pillboxes shattered.

As the infantry climbed up to shore,

Bracing the impact of the war.

The Allies advanced while the Axis fled;

The victors triumphed when the defeated mourned.

Now the majestic Blue Eagle  ended the Nazi rule,

And in its place was red, white and blue.
