Ribbons
We’re tied to this earth with a fragile ribbon,
yet we forget just how fragile this ribbon is.
Some of us beat up our ribbons;
we try to stretch them, or we fray them, or we knot them.
Some of our ribbons fade or get dirty and we just never clean them.
But there are a few people who take care of their precious, fragile, little ribbons.
There are a few people that clean them when they get dirty,
that unknot them when they get knotted,
that don’t pull them or fray them.
There are a few people that care for these beautiful, fragile, little ribbons.
This delicate ribbon is all any of us are guaranteed in this world.
