Help Me
Help Me
Anissa Bredemeyer
What do you do
When your house just isn’t a home?
What do you do when your feet transform
Into inches
And you’re left with nothing?
What do you do
When it all just diminishes
And you have no one?
What do you do
When your presence
Isn’t noticed,
Let alone appreciated?
What do you do
When the only thing
That could keep you sane
Walks away
Like a wax and a wane?
What do you do
When you’re afraid of death
But more afraid of life?
What do you do
When the string breaks,
The sole thread that kept you
Hanging on the whole time,
And you collapse?
Relapse after relapse, I collapse
And finally come to rest.
