Christmas
Christmas
Anissa Bredemeyer
The way you looked at me
Made me feel like you saw
Christmas lights in my eyes
And heard chiming bells in my soft-spoken voice.
The way you traced your fingers across the
Pale top layer of my winter skin
Made me feel as though you were touching
The first snowfall of the year.
Christmas day can wait
Because I’ve already received the greatest gift of all.
