tunnel.
September 6, 2014
You taught my trembling soul to know more than loneliness and despair.
In my darkest times, when the moon disappeared behind the midnight clouds, your words guided me to the dawn.
When my thoughts grew hands and tried to suffocate me, you dragged my poisonous mind to a tunnel of hope.
When the sunlight started to peer through, I felt your hand slip away.
Even though you didn't save me, you taught me how to survive.
Now I can take my own hands from around my neck and turn the distorted, f***ed up thoughts in my mind into poetry instead of scars.
And I have myself to thank for that.
