facade
i have everything i could ever want
people want to be me
but i wish that i could be someone else
at the same time they wish
they could be me
i want to be them
because the girl with the perfect grades
who made junior varsity as a freshman
the girl in an elite show choir
surrounded by friends and laughter
all smiles and happiness
is just a wall, that no ones breached
i’ve given up that anyone will
no one cares enough to realize
that just maybe i’m falling apart
on the inside
i feel like no one cares enough
to look closer and see
the swollen eyes
from nights spent crying
her cloudy eyes, that never smile with her
a fake laugh, boisterous and crazy
completely false personality
bubbly and happy
on the inside i hurt like hell
i’m not sure that i belong in the world anymore
i’ve come to question who i am
and why i exist
no one cares enough to try
so why am i trying to be someone i’m not
i have walls, and no one is running into them
no ones on the path that leads straight there
everyones chosen a path parallel to my wall
so no one notices
that the person i am
is just a
facade
