Neon muddle
intensified surprises,
banal conversations,
stories once unrefined,
memorized chuckles,
stale apple juice,
slang words recited
with a bitten lip,
to a dent in a wall
meanwhile, as a tumult
of external electronic clamors
pound throughout bone,
deep inside a fragile skull
with walls soaked in ink,
i crawl in through eye-sockets
and plunge my container
into my head juice,
heaving up my eyelids
against the heavy sap
to observe thoughts that swirl,
sheltered and still
suddenly,
a flick thrown to my skull,
so I whip my face around
to find a glaring familiar visage
observing me quietly
he flicks my head again,
and we both leap
into smile
