We Breathe
There's a war.
It's dark and
Cold.
We breathe.
But the air we dont need.
I've untied the scarlet ribbons,
The back tresses are set free.
We breathe.
But it does not matter.
Ribbons flow freely as they fall,
In a pool they converge.
The air is wasted amongst our lungs.
Yet, we breathe.
The black tresses entangle themselves against-
Our faces,
They cover our noses,
They cover our mouths,
Locking away any trace of air.
Our lungs scream but
They presist.
Panic rising.
There's fear, fear surfacing.
We cannot breathe.
