Growing up today can suck!
For we live in a world filled with words like f***
Where everyone is tearing each other down
And bringing people to the ground.
We hurt each other with words and lies,
Forcing each other to run and hide.
Where has all the kindness gone?

We live in a world based off of hate
That comes from things like sex and race.
So everyone on earth feels truly hurt
And they make it better by hurting others.
This circle of hurt will go on forever
Unless we all stand up together.

Our parents lived in a better time
One that was filled with less hurt and pain.
For with no internet or cell phones around,
You actually had to speak or write things down
The pain stayed around for a little bit
And it wasn’t too hard to get rid of it.

People used to really talk
Where they built each other up
And didn’t tear each other down.
Now all we do it rip each other apart
And tear holes in each other’s hearts.
If we could just go back in time
Maybe we could learn to love.

The pain we cause today is truly awful
But we keep on doing it
For all we care about is ourselves.
Maybe if we thought more in life,
And tried to think about’ others feelings
We wouldn’t have to ask the question
