The Hue
Clouds of indigo
nudge over a sheet of gray
as thunder cracks,
lightening croaks,
and even the snails
go away for the day
You think and you figure
inside is the best bet
under comforters
and pillows and blankets
You fret
that your socks have a hole
and your cocoa isn't hot
"Should I leave"
"Where's my coat"
"Am I ready or not"
To venture out,
past the ceilings and floors
You must always remember
It's two shades brighter
Outdoors.
