figurative language

he asked me why i talked in similes and metaphors
he asked me why i never said things how they were
he asked me why i made everything prose or poetry
i asked him to describe a feeling, any feeling
the only word he could describe a feeling with was the feeling itself
he started writing in similes and metaphors after that.
but soon everything became figurative language to him
until even our relationship was just a joke
and he described irony with our break up
