Contempt.
A feeling that swells inside the bottomless pit
Of the unwelcomed stomach it accompanies.
Where raised expectations
Meet admonishing glares and dismissive remarks.
Bodies that seek refuge
In the beauty of the surrounding world.
Beyond the horizon of cornflower and lilac
Pupils fix not on hue
But look towards what lies underneath.
Colors separated
By wisp after wisp of cloud in its sky.
