Anything is possible if you try

If you look in my life and see what I see
I can't sit on my porch not hearing gun fire
I can't walk to the store unless I see police over searching young black males
If you look in my life and see what I see
Everyone is dying
Just last summer I was sitting on my porch and someone found two dead bodies in a car
If you look in my life and see what I see
Walking down the street is a struggle
You'll never know if you will make it back home
If you look in my life and see what I see
You have mothers leaving baby's in gang ways
You have your next door neighbor breaking into your house
If you look in my life and see what I see
It becomes a problem when you hear gun shots and it's a familiar sound no one runs, hide,or duck anymore
If you look in my life and see what I see
You would see that our city is in trouble
Yes I want a better life
If you look in my life and see what I see
You would want a better life too
I feel like I deserve it and it's just for Me

I wrote this to express my feeling of what it's like to be a young African American living in Chicago. There are many struggles that I'm hoping to get away from one day done how!
