"Close your mind," they told me
"Shut your eyes," they said
Be a lady; don't speak your mind
Your head is strong, but your thoughts don't matter
Young, naive
Soul bruised, mind confused
Older, wide eyes
Looking beyond the frame of a rose colored world
Open mind; devouring knowledge
Not every truth is pretty
This world; bittersweet
Rose colored no more; such an imperfect thing
My mind is my jewel
My voice; my tool
My thoughts; no longer awry
A rose colored world; no place for a headstrong girl
